These dragon fruits are the product of our daughter Merrilee. December 2022 she went to Meijer and bought a dragon fruit to try. She liked it so much that she saved seeds from the fruit and started plants from that. These plants are over a year old. All the research we have done, we found that yes these will produce fruit. However, it will take up to 7 years before the plants produce fruit. All money from the dragonfruits will go to Merrilee and her own plant buisness.

Dragon fruits are a cacti which produces a tropical fruit that’s low in calories and high in fiber and antioxidants. Some people say it tastes like a cross between a pear and a kiwi. You can slice and eat the fruit as-is, try it with yogurt, or add it to a smoothie or salad. These are not hardy in Indiana and are grown as a houseplant.

Plants are grown in 3 1/2” pots.
