We are answering the request from our customers to grow cantaloupe plants. I (Brittany) decided to go with a variety that I remember being grown in the sandhills of Vincennes, IN. I interned with SWPAC (Southwest Purdue Ag Center) while attending college at Vincennes University. There were three main varieties of cantaloupes grown down there Athena, Atlantis, and Aphrodite. So, we are offering you a quality cantaloupe variety because you deserve to grow the best!
Cantaloupe love to grow in sand or at least well drained soil. Place a paper plate or Styrofoam plate under the cantaloupe fruit as they mature to keep ground bugs from eating the fruit. Epsom salts help make the fruit grow and become sweeter.
Plants grown in a 3 1/2" pot May have multiple plants per pot
