Basil- Kapoor Sacred Tulsi (Holy Basil)
Unique, spicy aroma with hints of coffee and chocolate.
Open-pollinated. A superior strain of Tulsi or Sacred basil, with a more compact growth habit and more pungent sweet flavor. Native to India and used in Indian and Thai cuisine. Spicier than other basils and quicker to go to seed, but still usable when covered with purple flowers. Used in Ayurvedic medicine as a poultice on acne, ringworm, eczema and insect bites. Makes a tasty tea for it strengthens the immune system and increases oxygen uptake in the brain. Plants stand a bit colder tolerant than other basils.
Plants look very similar to Blue Spice Basil, so make sure your plants are labeled. We found that this basil was a hit with the local bees and butterflies when flowering. The whole area was buzzing every day! Flowers are also edible and taste delicious in teas.
